MASTA ACE INC - Born To Roll [Delicious Vinyl, 1993]
First heard while brained at IV, potentially the most nuts bass line in history. A go to for the hip hop lock ins.
TALKING DRUMS - Courage [Sticky Music, 1982]
Classic tune from the Alienplatz, really lovely dubby disco. Yet to get the repress, but the rest of this record is sick too!
USHA UTHUP - Chhupke Kaun Aya [INRECO, 1981]
So so good, was on a big Michael Jackson tip late last year (shout outs Lucas) then my mate showed me this and I was floored.
POTPOURRI - Ich Bin Durchsichtig [Ahorn, 1982]
Fell into a hole of German new wave the other week and this is the one that stuck with me on the other end. Robot funk that is in both parts sick and hilarious.
CAN - Mother Sky [Liberty, 1970]
A recent CAN convert, this tune makes me feel all kinds of weird things. Heard it in a Linkwood mix that I have rinsed to death now. We had a big krautrock phase here in the mitte gaff, so this felt like a natural addition.
UNDERWORLD - Dark & Long (Thing in a Book) [Intercord, 1994]
Been searching for this track for so long, a few mistaken ID’s and here we are. The best, a classic alienplatz tune. Roast Christmas dinner, Gluhwein on the stove and this on the klangzeug. Mint!
SOLID SPACE - 10th Planet [In Phaze Records, 1982]
A recent addition thanks to a friend, really really dope futuristic synth pop. The whole album is nuts but this is probably the standout to me.
