CHRISTIAN KOLONOVITS - Ouverture Tiger [Exxent, 1984]
One of many records that was shown to me by premium Austro-digger, Luziprak. Lucky for me, at that time I had a record he was after so he traded it with me for this super rare Austrian movie soundtrack produced by Christian Kolonovits.
MUSIX EX MASCHINA - Journey Back To Paradise [Venus, 1990]
I had just almost recovered from the most exhausting weekend this year when I found this in an unusual spot in Berlin. The very moment that I saw the name of the “band” on the back of the (generally ugly looking) cover, I walked straight to the listening station to try my luck on that track ‘Journey Back To Paradise’.
STEFANO - Ma Senti Tu... [OK Musica, 1985]
Uploaded and frequently played out by my close companions from Liederbetätigung, Armin Schmelz and Ali Europa. I found this record on one of my weekly visits to Teuchtler record shop in Vienna when they’d just got in three boxes of mostly schlager singles previously owned by a former radio host.
DRUMPACT - In The Meadow [Cyronic Inc, 1986]
One of the best things about the short period of time I lived in Munich was meeting tireless local digger Mikey Gee from the Lague Moin crew. We were constantly exchanging our new finds and occasionally swapping records. The Drumpact LP was part of a bigger trade-off, an under-the-radar and potential Tropical Drums Of Deutschland Vol. 2 sure-shot (bussis to Jan) with two killer tracks on it.
TIBOR SZEMZÖ - Without Adolf (For A Peyotist) [Hungaropop, 1989]
The good guys from the London-based Customs crew shed light on this peaceful track off an LP by Hungarian artist Tibor Szemzö, which led me to contact the artist to buy his records directly from him. Even though he knew what they were worth, I still got it at a fair price. I’d rather give the money to the creator than to some random Discogs-moron.
RAUHREIF - Djenkuje - Dobranos [CTS Records, 1981]
Yes guys, Redlight Records also has some interesting and unknown records along with the hyped and overpriced ones. You only have to dig deep enough and not let yourself be blinded by Youtube-plays and Discogs-wants.
